This is my first bit of walking for many years and is deliberately short for that reason. So rather than walk the Camino Francés from Saint Jean-Pied-de-Port, I am just walking the last 118 km of the Camino from Sarria in Galicia to Santiago de Compostela. A short Pilgrimage for a short Pilgrim! I am going to Walk The Walk! So follow me on the way; The Way of Saint James! Le Chemin de Saint Jacques! El Camino de Sant Iago!!

Tuesday 15th June 2010 - Carluke To Stansted
Everything has gone smoothly. The only delay was from GPIA (Prestwick), where the incoming flight was delayed because of a French Air Traffic Control strike. The Travelodge was only a ten minute bus ride from Stansted Airport followed by a short walk. The room is your typical Travelodge offering - very clean, functional and comfortable - and at £19 very reasonable. The weather is still warm and sunny which does help when you have a bit of walking to do. I hope to have a good night's sleep as I have an early start tomorrow morning. I plan to catch either the 05.35 or the 06.00 from the roundabout close to the Travelodge itself and then have breakfast at the Airport. My flight leaves at 08.00.

Hello Michael from Iain in sunny Carluke. Hope all is well with you on day 2 of your camino. One place well worth a visit if you had any spare time is O Grove an hour or so from Santiago. Lovely fishing village, great seafood, nice wine and a casino if you are feeling lucky LOL. Good luck to you, hope all is well. PS if you stumble accross any wild bears tell them your Scottish and you'll be fine.
